A new air separation project of Yingde Gases with production capacity equivalent to 80,000 Nm³/h commences production

The air separation project constructed by Yingde Gases for the Xinan Copper Branch of Yunnan Copper Corporation under the Aluminum Corporation of China Limited (hereinafter referred to as “Xinan Copper”) successfully commenced production. The project is set to serve as a strong safeguard for the smooth relocation and production of Xinan Copper.

As a leading enterprise in China's copper industry, Xinan Copper initiated its relocation project under the guidance of China’s strategic goals on "Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality" to accelerate the process of green and low-carbon transformation. Independently-designed and manufactured by Yingde Engineering under Yingde Gases, the 66,000 Nm³/h large air separation unit is a key component of Xinan Copper’s relocation project. Located in a high altitude area, the capacity of the air separation unit is equivalent to a 80,000 Nm³/h unit in a plain area. As another self-designed and manufactured 80,000-grade air separation unit by Yingde Engineering, the unit will provide Xinan Copper with a continuous supply of industrial gases such as oxygen and nitrogen to provide a solid foundation for subsequent production operations.

Equipped with independent design and engineering capabilities, Yingde Engineering has successfully commenced operations for over 20 large air separation units with over 60,000-grade capacities, providing customers with turnkey design, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, engineering management and project consulting services for air separation equipment, cryogenic equipment, green hydrogen equipment and water-coal slurry gasification equipment.

Since the start of the project construction in June 2023, Yingde Engineering has leveraged its leading EPC professional technology and project management experience as well as mature technical resources. Its application of advanced intelligent construction site management systems to efficiently manage the entire project construction cycle has enabled the project to commence production earlier than originally planned.

Yingde Engineering’s speedy response to customer needs and its pursuit of service quality are reflected in every single detail of its projects. Over the course of implementing the project, Yingde Engineering successfully shortened the commissioning lead-time from the single testing of the air booster compressor motor to the production of qualified products to 15 days, setting a new record for the commissioning lead-time of large compressors. The shortened lead-time saves commissioning costs for customers while greatly improving engineering efficiency and ensuring the smooth progress of customers' relocation projects. Furthermore, eight work sections including the cold box steel structure installation and oxygen pipeline installation were rated as model projects for quality. The project also had zero safety accidents during the construction process and has been conferred multiple awards. As a key project for quality observation, the Yunnan Copper air separation project has been visited by the leaders of the China Non-Ferrous Industry Association and Aluminum Corporation of China Limited for guidance-related tasks. With its high efficiency and excellent quality, Yingde Engineering has won repeated acclaim and recognition from customers.

Chen Kai, Yingde Gases’ Vice President and General Manager of Design and Engineering Management Division, said: “The successful completion and commencement of production of this air separation project is an important milestone in Xinan Copper’s relocation project, and it is also yet another successful outcome of the in-depth partnership and joint development among Yingde Gases, Aluminum Corporation of China, Yunnan Copper and Xinan Copper. Yingde Gases is committed to using advanced technology and high-quality services, providing partners with efficient and low-carbon gas and engineering solutions while supporting more companies in achieving green and sustainable transformation.”
