Yingde Gases will Export Air Separation Unit to the Middle East

On February 18, 2025, Yingde Gases signed an agreement with AVIC International Hangzhou Company Limited (abbr. AVIC INTL Hangzhou) to provide a set of liquid air separation unit (ASU) to the Middle East.

This liquid ASU will be designed and manufactured in strict compliance with ASME standards, achieving industry-leading levels in both energy efficiency and reliability. Upon completion, it will supply the local market with a range of gas products including liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen, and liquid argon. The project adopts a modular skid-mounted solution, significantly reducing on-site installation time and enabling rapid commissioning. This innovative delivery model not only enhances project execution efficiency but also creates greater value for clients. The project will provide crucial support for local industrial development in the Middle East, marking another significant step in Yingde Gases' commitment to the Belt and Road Initiative and its support for infrastructure development in participating countries.

Heralding yet another breakthrough in the Middle Eastern region, this partnership follows a previous joint project in Turkey in 2020 for the construction of two 10,500Nm3/h ASUs. During the Turkey project, the two parties were faced with a few of challenges including the global pandemic and a major earthquake and finally realized a successful commissioning which was regarded as a new paradigm in the region. The signing of this new Middle East project signifies the deepening of the two parties’ strategic partnership, laying a solid foundation for joint expansion in the overseas market.

Beginning in 2020 Yingde Gases implemented a development strategy focusing on business unit diversification, attaining stable BOO (Build-Own-Operate) growth in gas supply while expanding the company’s footprint in more markets, toward the goal of providing global clients with total solutions for the in-house R&D, design and manufacture of ASUs. To this end, Yingde Gases has formed strategic partnerships with several well-known corporations in the state, government and private sectors involving nearly 20 air separation supply projects, for Jiangsu Binxin Steel Group (60,000Nm3/h), Wanhua Chemical Fujian Company (62,500Nm3/h), Guangxi Huayou (30,000Nm3/h and 60,000Nm3/h), Southwest Copper Branch of Yunnan Copper (80,000Nm3/h-level), and Jinchuan Group in Gansu Province (60,000Nm3/h) among others. At the same time, Yingde Gases continues to innovate, conducting in-house R&D and building its own VPSA (Vacuum Pressure Swing Adsorption) equipment, signing VPSA equipment supply agreements with Jushi Jiangsu (6,000Nm3/h) and Tsingshan Steel (1500Nm3/h), helping China-based industry to improve quality and efficiency and make progress in green, low-carbon development.

Zhou Lianbing, AVIC INTL Hangzhou Chairman and President expressed the following: “The strategic partnership with Yingde Gases is an important step in our company’s high-end equipment export initiative. Yingde Gases is technologically superior in the manufacture of air separation facilities and possesses solid project execution capabilities. This is the main reason why we chose to go with Yingde Gases again after our first collaboration with them. I believe that through the mutual enhancement of our inherent strengths the two parties will undoubtedly bring Chinese high-end equipment to an even broader global market.”

Chen Kai, Yingde Gases’ Vice President and GM of Design & Engineering Management Center said: “We are honored to partner with AVIC INTL once again. Yingde Gases adheres to its customer-centric philosophy, dedicated to delivering value-added services. Upholding the strategic direction of continuous innovation, we are committed to the synergistic development of ASUs and industrial gases. We will provide AVIC INTL as well as all our other partners sophisticated air separation equipment of superior quality, safety and performance standards. At the same time, we aim to make innovative breakthroughs in air separation technology, creating a new driver for growth within the industry.”
